Alex Akuete is a 27-year-old autodidactic multidisciplinary artist and has a bachelor's degree in Social care work. From a very young age, Alex Akuete was inspired by dance, performance and theater. He practiced various dance styles and theater with various artists in Antwerp. He was quickly noticed by Jan Martens, Fanny Heuten and Els Dietvorst and Mestizo art platform (MAP), with whom he realized projects. He also worked as a dancer/actor and theater director with theater houses and organisation in Belgium and abroad. Currently Alex is active in Het Paleis with the performance Fel (Karolien Verlinden) and in KVS with the performance Who’s Tupac (Junior Mthombeni).

In the past years Alex has performed his solo (PARADOX) on the stage of KVS Brussels. He was also one of the casts of the play Who’s Tupac. A creation of Junior Mthombeni in KVS. Alex is currently creating a new performance with Junior Mthombeni in KVS.

Exploring
movement
Alex has been able to experience freedom in creating artworks and performing during two important exhibitions of Els Dietvorst. One in MUHKA and the most recent expo in CENTRALE for contemporary art – Bruxelles. An exhibition that celebrated the Belgian Art price won by Els Dietvorst.
